A world where all children can read.

Read. Write. Go!

Children’s Literacy Project creates a brighter future by improving the literacy skills of children from low-income households. We envision a community where all children can read, write, and spell—the building blocks for success in school and life. Through training and supporting our volunteer tutors in the Triangle Area, we prepare our students to make a positive impact on the world.

Children who are not proficient in reading by third grade are at disproportionate risk of subsequently dropping out of school. As adults, they are more likely to be unemployed or employed in low-paying jobs.

The good news: Within one year, 90% of our students increase their reading ability to age-appropriate, average skill level with Children’s Literacy Project’s intensive, early intervention services.
